Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Monday trading session in positive territory, supported by the growth of blue-chip stocks.
The general index rose 0.61%, closing the session at 5,051.07 points.
The ADX’s trading volume reached 48.98 million shares exchanged with a turnover of AED 209.74 million through 2,362 transactions.
By the end of the session, market capitalisation stood at AED 517.18 billion.
The consumer staples sector topped risers with 2.71% as Agthia and International Holding Company (ASMAK) grew 2.31% and 7.41%, respectively.
Similarly, the banks sector levelled up 0.68% after Sharjah Bank and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) went up 3.25% and 1.22%, respectively, while the telecommunication sector and its sole stock, Etisalat, advanced 0.83% each.
On the flip side, the energy sector headed decliners with 0.59%, pressured by Dana Gas which dipped 0.44%.
